? To support Project Management to have kick – off meeting done internally, and liaison meeting with the customer and design institute done.
? To design the engineering drawings based on the requirement of the received orders and communicate with oversea engineering to have required support. Understand the key factors of the design.
? Apply the updated specification and standard in the localized design properly.
? Receive the feedbacks from the suppliers and customers to improve the design.
? Discuss the related issues with oversea engineering departments and QA.
? The engineer will have responsibility to select an appropriate modification/upgrade.
? Excellent communication and effective interpersonal skills are required as the Mechanical Engineer will have frequent interactions with customers and suppliers.
? To support Procurement as required.
? Lead or support the development of new products, from design and manufacturing follow-up to field testing, in collaboration with other Metso units when applicable.
? Apply and adhere to ISO 9001 standards and procedures in daily activities to ensure compliance with company quality requirements.
? Comply with all HSE and Quality policies, procedures, and practices.
? Execute other related activities inherent to the role, as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Main responsibilities 主要職責
? To organize the required materials for the kick-off meeting and liaison meeting of the received orders according to the signed agreements. To clarify the related issues mentioned in the meetings.
? To prepare Metso Outotec’s RFQ for the suppliers from technical point of view.
? Work with GSC and suppliers to make sure they understand our updated specification and apply them correctly.
? Refer to the existing drawings and engineering specification/standard, understand them and apply the updated specification/standard to create new drawings.
? To receive, understand, clarify the related technical questions coming from suppliers, customers, and design institutes, get support from oversea engineering as required.
? Give the recommendation and suggestion on the problems from suppliers during the fabrication.
? Giving technical comments on product quality problems of suppliers
? Follow up the problems’ solution, and make sure they are solved properly.
? Work with Proposals and technical support to make sure they know what the design is and clarify the issues as needed.
? Effectively coordinates work with other groups within the company.
? Communicate effectively with customers to understand needs for upgrades to machines.
? Communicates effectively with the customer and keeps customer advised periodically on the status of the work.
? Other tasks assigned by manager.
To succeed 任職條件
? Bachelor of Mechanical Science Degree in Fabrication/Structural/Hydraulic/casting Engineering or related field (or equivalent training/experience)
? Preferred 10 years’ experience in the design of heavy equipment.
? Experience in equipment design such as Belt Feeders, Apron Feeders (both preferred ones), Mining type Belt Conveyors, Car Dumpers, Stackers, Reclaimers or other Bulk Material Handling equipment.
? Experience in Mechanical Design.
? Professional Engineer license is desirable but not required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
? Knowledge of design and building codes including Metso, local and international, which are related to Apron and Belt Feeders and machinery.
? Knowledge of operation and maintenance procedures.
? Understanding of shop manufacturing practices and field erection procedures along with experience in structural computer analysis and modeling is preferred.
? Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office and 3D CAD system, such as Autodesk Inventor (preferred), Solid Works, CREO, CATIA.
? Good communication (both written and oral) and effective interpersonal skills are required as the employee will have interactions with both internal and external customers and suppliers.
? Must be able to effectively discuss, explain and coordinate designs with drafters and other disciplines cross-functionally.
? Must be able to function effectively both as a member of a team and as an individual contributor.
? Ability to complete assigned tasks in the time allotted with minimal supervision.
? Highly motivated individual with the ability to work under stress and meet tight deadlines.
? Must be capable of effectively and accurately working on several projects at one time
? Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
? Regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; and effectively communicate with others.
? Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb or balance.
? Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
? Visual acuity is required to read and produce accurate engineering materials.
? Required use of keyboards, telephones, copiers, fax, visits and movement through shops, and travel experiences.
? The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 kg, including climbing up and down multiple flights by way of stairs or ladders when working in the field, as well as ability to react to audible warnings when working in the field.
? Travel (up to 25%) may be required as needed (including both domestic and international)
? Good at speaking and writing of English.
