Formally established in June 2022, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou)(HKUST(GZ)) is a cooperatively-run university between the Chinese mainland and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. HKUST(GZ) has obtained approval from the Ministry of Education (MoE) and become the first legally-independent educational institution co-established by the Mainland and Hong Kong since the announcement and implementation of the “Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” and the “Overall Plan for Deepening Globally Oriented Comprehensive Co-operation amongst Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao in Nansha of Guangzhou”. In response to the increasingly complex challenges faced by the rapidly changing world, HKUST(GZ) adopts a brand-new and cross-disciplinary academic structure featuring “Hub” and “Thrust” to substitute the conventional one characterized by “school” and “department”, facilitating cross-disciplinary integration while vigorously developing emerging and frontier disciplines. This is a groundbreaking move in the higher education community across the globe.
Duties
We are looking for a well-qualified candidate to support the PG Curriculum Development and Administration Department. The appointee will perform a wide spectrum of postgraduate related work including policies and regulations governing postgraduate studies, curricular matters, resource and quality assurance matters. Major responsibilities include:
1. Assist in setting up and reviewing all related policies, procedures and guidelines for postgraduate studies;
2. Assist in overseeing the academic standard of postgraduate programs, and support the development of postgraduate programs and courses;
3. Providing secretarial support to committees including vetting proposals, preparing meeting papers, drafting committee minutes and following through the implantation of decisions made by the committees;
4. Support the administration of Postgraduate Studentships and various award schemes;
5.Prepare and compile student data and statistical reports;
6. Any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor(s).

1. A good bachelor's degree or above;
2. Normally a minimum of 5 years of relevant administrative experience, experience in postgraduate education is highly desirable;
3. Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (Putonghua); and
4. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills, and with demonstrated ability to produce quality work independently and under tight timelines.
This is a Mainland appointment, and the appointee will be offered a contract by HKUST(GZ) entity in accordance with the Mainland labor laws and regulations. Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
