Formally established in June 2022, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou)(HKUST(GZ)) is a cooperatively-run university between the Chinese mainland and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. HKUST(GZ) has obtained approval from the Ministry of Education (MoE) and become the first legally-independent educational institution co-established by the Mainland and Hong Kong since the announcement and implementation of the “Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” and the “Overall Plan for Deepening Globally Oriented Comprehensive Co-operation amongst Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao in Nansha of Guangzhou”. With a spirit of pioneering innovation, HKUST(GZ) charts new territories in cross-disciplinary education and explores new frontiers in pedagogies, aiming to serve as a role model of the mainland-Hong Kong integrated educational development and become a world-famous high-level university, endeavoring to nurture future-oriented, high-level and innovative talents.
HKUST(GZ) comprises four Hubs, namely Function Hub, Information Hub, Systems Hub, Society Hub and 16 thrusts. The admission of undergraduate students will begin in 2023, with the first batch of programs covering artificial intelligence, data science and big data technology and smart manufacturing engineering.
Duties
1.Oversee the day-to-day of NGS related laboratory facility;
2.Develop instrument operation SOPs and provide instrument operational training to students and research staff;
3.Perform daily maintenance on the instruments;
4.Nurture relationship with users in organizing various seminars, user group meetings, and workshops to introduce new technologies to users and hear their feedbacks;
5.Ensure the adherence to safety practices per Health and Safety regulations;
6.Perform other tasks assigned by supervisor.

3.對儀器進行日常維護；
4.培養與用戶的關系，組織研討會、用戶小組會議和工作坊等活動，向用戶介紹新技術并聽取他們的反饋；
5.確保操作符合健康和安全規定；
6.完成領導交辦的其他任務。

任職要求:
Qualification Requirements
1.Applicants should have a master’s degree or higher in biological sciences or related disciplines with at least 1 year of relevant experience;
2.Good analytical and critical thinking skills, excellent organizational skills, and strong communication and presentation skills;
3.Experience in working in a life science core facility and hands-on experience in NGS are strongly preferred;
4.Acquire depth and breadth of knowledge in all aspects pertaining to departmental role and effectively apply technical knowledge to solve a range of problems;
5.Make sure the practical needs of the team and team members are met and ensure that the team’s tasks are completed in accordance with the formulated plan;
6.Organize work according to project and time management principles and processes; practices and plans for contingencies to deal with unexpected events or setbacks;
7.Good command in written and spoken English and Chinese.
1.碩士或以上學歷，生物科學或相關專業，1年以上相關工作經驗；
2.具有良好的分析和批判性思維能力，優秀的組織能力，較強的溝通和表達能力；
3.具有生命科學相關平臺工作經驗及二代測序平臺實操經驗者優先；
4.全面深度掌握相關領域知識，能夠高效運用技術知識解決問題；
5.確保團隊和團隊成員的實際需求得到滿足，確保團隊按照計劃完成任務；
6.根據項目和時間管理原則和流程組織工作，為應對突發事件或問題制定方案和實踐；
7.良好的中英文書寫和口語能力。
