1. Plans, designs, and implements university guidance programs and events for students and families to assist them in proper planning for college.
2. Develops and implements successful new university guidance strategies and programs.
3. Counsels an assigned group of Fifth and Sixth Form students, assisting them with the college search and application process and writing comprehensive recommendation letters.
4. Works with international students to ensure understanding of the United States/UK/Australia etc. college admission process, particularly the aspects unique to international applicants.
5. Communicates regularly and frequently with students and parents of all Forms regarding the college admission process.
6. Familiar with counselling systems such as Cialfo.
7.Responsible for high school students’ activities including competitions, profile improvement etc.
8.Advises students on academic and extra- and co-curricular choices.
9.Builds and fosters strong relationships with selective college admission offices throughout the United States and abroad.
10. Represents the School and its students through active participation in university guidance professional organizations and takes a leadership role in meetings, committees, and workshops.
11.Stays current with trends in college admission, higher education, and national testing.
12.Oversees the Office of university guidance and works collaboratively with the other counselors.
13. Maintains current knowledge of the college financial aid process and works closely to support families applying for aid.
14. Manages all university guidance office data, systems, and records, while ensuring the confidentiality of all information.
15.Provides regular reports to the Executive Principal.
16.Annually reviews university guidance policies, criteria, processes, and requirements.
17.Serves as liaison between the university guidance office staff and the rest of the school, including communicating information and updates on the admission process.
18.Oversees and guides the faculty writing of requested recommendations for students applying to college.
19.Identifies and establishes contact with schools that may be good matches for students through visits with college reps, campus visits and conferences.
20.Oversees visits to colleges and colleges fairs.
21.Oversees visits from college representatives to the school’s campus.
22.Collaborates with Principals’ Council members, representing academics, admissions, student life, summer programs, and others to enhance the program of the school and to maintain the high quality of college acceptances of the school’s students.
23.Travels both domestically and internationally to promote the school and its students.
24.Organizing high caliber and well-rounded camps for students to satisfy their university application needs
25.Performs other duties assigned by the Executive principal related to the office or to life in a boarding school.
